REVIEWS
I should start this review by saying Cat and Miles are probably my favourite fictional couple of all time! "Fair Play" has a very strong and gripping plot, some new (and VERY interesting) characters (wait for Connie!), and the setting leaves you feeling like you've had a bit of a holiday. C.J. Shane's writing continues to grow alongside her characters, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next. You don't need to have read "Kissed" (the first Cat Miranda mystery) to enjoy this book, but you'll get so much more out of it if you do! ~~Dawn Lewis, Dawn's Bookreviews, Facebook and Twitter This is Tito, Cat Miranda's dog. She rescued Tito from the animal shelter. No one wanted to take him home because he's so big. Yes, big, but Tito is loving and loyal and fiercely protection of his beloved Cat Miranda.

FAIR PLAY is a fast murder-mystery ride through Bisbee, an old mining town turned art and counter-culture haven near Arizona’s southern border. You’ll love the mouth-watering introduction to Mexican cooking, plus birding trips for avian lovers. Join gallery owner Cat Miranda and her new “novio,” “Sir” Miles from England, as they solve a new “who done it” while trying to protect the environmentally sensitive San Pedro River. Interesting characters abound, including a life-saving Great Dane. ~~S Holland

A very nice cozy mystery, with plenty of action. The author's knowledge of the art world shines through on the book's pages and the main characters are very likeable. ~~Sasscer Hill
This book makes me want to take a trip to Bisbee, Arizona! C. J. Shane does her research well to bring many subjects together, creating a lively mystery set in this historic mountain town. Her knowledge of art, birdwatching, and Southwestern culture is outstanding. Readers are reintroduced to a few heroes of the earlier book, Kissed, and some new characters as well. All in all, a good read. ~~Tamara Poff

The next in the Cat Miranda mysteries is out! A cocktail of romance, murder, and mystery makes for a late-night page turning tease. A lawyer brutally beaten, a stolen “insignificant” painting, and murder most foul has Cat and friends wondering what is going on in their small town. Bisbee, Arizona, close to the Mexican border is the backdrop, and Fair Play is a fun way to slip away the hours.
C.J. Shane did such a good job of capturing the personality of people and place, I had to google Bisbee to see if it was really a town and see how close it is to the Mexican border. Its real! Now, I’ve a yen to travel there. ~~B.K.Forsyth, PhD |
