Hong Kong Hot is a smart, sexy read. Like the first bite of an apple -- I can't wait for more! Emily Marchand, an LA artist, travels to Hong Kong with her Mr. Wrong, Eric Wong. He's too busy for her, but there's an enticing Frenchman, Gabriel Du Bois, who needs help with English as he launches his international outdoor equipment company. Great writing, fully sketched characters, adult discussions and lots of teasing from the difference between a French kiss and a Frenchman's kiss to steamy sex where there is no real language barrier. Nice feel for Hong Kong, with an overlay of suspense as Emily and Gabriel experience kidnapping by a triad gang looking for Eric Wong. Will they escape? Stay tuned!
I really enjoyed this book by Aylen Ainsley. An exotic setting -- Hong Kong's Lantau Island -- plus an attractive American woman who meets an attractive Frenchman -- it's lust and then love at first sight. Mix in the two getting over bad relationships, one of whom is the woman's ex-boyfriend who's there and, it turns out, is a gangster in the midst of a gang war of sorts. Romance, mystery, adventure, steamy sex -- I hadn't planned to read this in one sitting, but I couldn't put it down.
This is the first in a romantic suspense series by a new author, Aylen Ainsley. It is an enjoyable, spicy romance with Emily and Gabriel, both out of miserable relationships. They find one another on a beach in Hong Kong and Emily becomes an interpreter for the “garbage language” or American slang of Gabriel’s young employees. The couples hot romance is complicated by the revenge of Emily’s jilted lover, a kidnapping, and ransom demands. Hong Kong Hot gave this reader a satisfying, happy ever after.
